Carl Zeiss, technology leader in optics, precision mechanics and electronical visualisation, has partnered up with milani for the realisation of its most prominent innovation project; functionality, ergonomy and a new design language have been developed together in an amazingly short time frame.
The most recent project, VISALIS 500, is an integrated work place for the treatment of eye cataract. In the basic configuration with phacoemulsification module cataract extraction is performed. The intelligent design and systems architecture allows a later adding of a vitrectomy module for retinal surgery.
VISALIS 500 thus combines the most important device in the ophthalmic surgery.
