It’s 2015. The first smart watches are widening the options available for collecting personal health data, thereby marking the start of the trend toward self-optimization and digital health. Thanks to digitalization, pharmacies are no longer limited to customers coming into store. Treatment can take place remotely and be supported over a longer period of time. Patients can also share information with each other and form communities.
It is in this context that Milani helped startup Alphastreams identify the potentials of emerging technologies for pharmacies and to create an experiential, digital prototype of such a support service. Elements of this, such as telemedicine, electronic prescriptions for medications, and medical history bots are now commonplace.
