Usability and user-centered approach in the product development process

Usability and ergonomics are essential when it comes to medical technology products. Milani factors the needs of all stakeholders into the medical design process. We analyze diverse user requirements e.g. through interviews or on-site ethnographic studies, and translate them into the design process on an ongoing basis. Sustainability in Medtech

The subject of sustainability can no longer be ignored in the medtech industry. New directives such as the European Green Deal are tightening up the already strict regulatory framework and are resulting in a number of changes that also affect medical technology. Regulations such as the EU Plastic Packaging Levy and ecodesign requirements are just the beginning. Key stakeholders are also putting increasing pressure on the industry. Hospitals have to achieve environmental targets and investors expect ESG criteria to be met.

Up to 80% of the environmental impact of a product is decided in the design phase. Including sustainability in product design therefore opens up considerable opportunities. Reusing and recycling medical devices has traditionally been complex and costly but is definitely possible today.
